OPMI VARIO 700 System - Dynamic Microscopy -Combining state-of-the-art optics with a host of innovations, OPMI VARIO 700 seamlessly integrates into the operating room environment. Physicians from multiple specialties provided valuable input in fine-tuning every aspect of its unique design. The result is a multidisciplinary surgical microscope that ideally complements how surgeons operate, positively impacting virtually every facet of the OR workflow.
Spine Surgery
A
modern microscope for spine surgery must fulfill at least four
criteria: excellent visual clarity over long working distances, a bright
light source that can illuminate deep surgical channels, an extended
reach to accommodate large surgical workspaces and positioning
flexibility for both surgeon and assistant in face-to-face
configurations so that both can operate comfortably. Whether performing
a microdiscectomy, interbody cage fusion or any other spinal procedure,
ZEISS’ apochromatic lenses provide a crystal clear window into the
surgical field. The Superlux® 180W xenon light source
(optional 300W) illuminates even the deepest surgical channel with ease.
The industry-leading reach and class-leading working distance of
200-500mm provides flexibility in positioning OPMI VARIO 700 whether at
the side or behind the surgeon. Various adjustment points and binocular
tube options enable users to customize the surgical cockpit so that
both the primary surgeon and assistant receive the personalized fit
needed to operate in total comfort.
Highlights
- ZEISS apochromatic optics for unmatched clarity
- Brilliant xenon illumination for unhindered visualization
- 200-500mm working distance accommodates wide range of applications
- Industry leading reach for positioning flexibility
- Ergonomic design allows surgeon and assistant to operate comfortably
- Integrated video enables easy image capture and documentation
Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Surgery
ENT
surgery is unique in its sheer variety of procedures and the need to
frequently reposition the microscope during surgery to establish the
proper line of sight to the surgical field. Numerous ENT surgeons were
consulted during the development of OPMI VARIO 700 – and it shows. The
system’s tiltable tube allows personalized positioning, whether at the
angles used in general ENT and middle-ear surgeries or at the near 90
degree angles required for transoral laser microsurgery (TLM) and some
skull base procedures. OPMI VARIO 700 also provides an interface for
easy integration of conventional laser micromanipulators with the focus
lock feature ensuring that the focal position of the laser and the
microscope are precisely aligned. With its unprecedented long reach, the
system provides the flexibility needed to easily accommodate cases like
bilateral ear treatments, without repositioning the entire system.
Highlights
- ZEISS apochromatic optics for unmatched clarity
- Brilliant xenon illumination for unhindered visualization
- Ergonomic design allows surgeon to operate comfortably regardless of application
- Easily accommodates laser micromanipulators
- Focus lock enables precise alignment of laser and microscope
- Integrated video enables easy image capture and documentation
Highest
quality optics are crucial for identifying fine anatomical details in
plastic & reconstructive surgery and maximum clarity at high
magnification is essential for performing delicate anastomoses. The
legendary optics from Carl Zeiss provides this in spades. Cognizant of
the need for surgeons to use both hands to operate during certain P
& R procedures, all essential system functions can be controlled
using the programmable wired or wireless foot control. Further catering
to the needs of the P & R surgeon, OPMI VARIO 700 is offered with
an optional XY coupler, a rare if not unique feature at this price
point. Equipped with the XY coupler, OPMI VARIO 700 enables extremely
fine movement in the XY plane, providing the motorized fine control
during micro-vascular reconstruction and other procedures requiring high
magnification.
Neurosurgery
Over
60% of all neurosurgeries worldwide are performed on ZEISS surgical
microscopes and 9 of the top 10 neurosurgery hospitals use ZEISS
microsurgical technology – and for good reason. Drawing upon the
unparalleled breadth of clinical experience, Carl Zeiss was first to
market with over 50 innovations to benefit the neurosurgeon, including
intraoperative fluorescence, networking and HD video to name a few.
With OPMI VARIO 700, we take many of these innovations and make them
available in a highly-configurable system that allows neurosurgeons to
customize it to fit their exact personal and clinical needs. Moreover,
the modular nature of OPMI VARIO 700 opens the door to the possibility
of adding new features and functionality should your needs change or
should new neurosurgical technologies become available in the future.
